Merrill Corp, the US provider of SaaS tools for M&A clients, will launch a new tool to help advisers send teasers next week, said Chief Product Officer Thomas Fredell.
DatasiteOne Marketing will help investment bankers and other advisers send customized emails to potential buyers and keep track of their answers, Fredell said. It will also offer a seamless transition into the Minnesota-based company’s virtual data-room (VDR), DatasiteOne, he said.
The tool has been tested by Merrill Corp’s reference customers, who have used it to send teasers to up to 400 buyers in one deal, Fredell said. The idea is to “take the grunt work out,” he added.
One advantage of the new tool is that advisers can use it to collate information on how many deals they have invited buyers to consider, the executive said. This can be leveraged to gain sell-side mandates, he added.
The new application will optimize buyer outreach, workflow tracking and reporting, document management, and customizing email content, a Merrill Corp spokesperson said.
At the same time, the company is also rolling out a new landing page for its VDR, Fredell said, including more redaction tools and a deal cockpit.
The landing page will allow users to engage with several projects simultaneously, the spokesperson said. Also, users will now be able to redact multiple documents at once and automate the watermarking of documents for security reasons, she added.
