Restructure with Foresight: Russia, CEE & CIS

Webinar in Partnership with Debtwire

DATE: Thursday, 27 April 2021

TIME: 14:00 MSK | 12:00 BST

The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have been both global and profound but Russian issuers largely managed to avoid defaults in 2020, using a window of opportunity in the second half of the year to refinance their liabilities. The full outcome of the crisis remains to be seen, however. Closures of small retail and entertainment businesses will likely increase NPL levels in local banks, while transportation, oil and gas and metals and mining businesses have all been affected during the pandemic.

On 27 April, in partnership with Debtwire, we hosted a live webinar for the Emerging Markets Restructuring Series, covering the CEE, Russia & the CIS markets.

The live webinar focused on:

  • CEE & Russia: banking and corporate restructuring outlook
  • Belarus: debt servicing during the crisis
  • Restructuring remotely and the role of technology

Democratization of private equity

The emergence of retail investor/public investor money coming into private equity and several investment platforms are really starting to ‘democratize’ access to private equity. Is this connected with the growing number of IPOs that we are seeing for PE firms?
