Federal Register

Definition:

The official daily (except holidays) journal of the federal government of the United States that contains most routine publications and public notices of US government agencies. The Federal Register is the main source of publication for the US government agencies of: proposed new rules and regulations; final rules; changes to existing rules; and notices of meeting and adjudicatory proceedings. The final rules adopted by a US federal agency and published in the Federal Register are reorganized by subject matter and codified in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), which is updated annually.
