Can I convert a password protected file?
You’ll need to remove password protection before converting a file – and remember to re-protect both the original and the Excel file if necessary.
Do I need to install software to use the app?
The whole process is online, so you don’t need software.
What's the difference between XLS and XLSX Excel file formats?
They're both Excel formats, but XLSX is the most recent version supported by Microsoft, so we use the latest for our outputs.
Will the converted file include all the information from the image?
The tool extracts only information that's in a table format. Each table will be represented in a different section of the Excel file, referencing the page from which it was extracted.
Can the tool convert a photo of a table?
Photos and scanned images can also be converted, provided the quality is good enough for the tool to read (please double-check).
Does Datasite keep a copy of files I upload?
All original files and new (Excel) files are stored in your My Documents area. No other users can access them, and you can permanently delete them anytime.
