What is a VDR?

Virtual data room, or VDR, is just another term for a digital data room. In the past, a data room was a physical room within a building, in which dealmakers could study hard-copy documents. The term ‘virtual data room’ was initially coined to distinguish the online version of this. However, since file sharing today is nearly always digital, the online platforms are commonly known simply as ‘data rooms’.
