Process Agent

Definition:

A representative upon whom court papers may be served. In the United States, the role is generally a requirement of state law. In the United States and England, it is the market standard, and in many instances a requirement by transaction parties, that each transaction party with no presence or representation in the United States or England, as the case may be, appoints a Process Agent in the applicable jurisdiction, and agrees that service at the address of its Process Agent will constitute proper service for the purposes of the court procedures.
