What is a Proxy Solicitor?
Definition:
An individual or entity employed by a company to solicit Proxies for a meeting of shareholders or to solicit consents if no meeting is to be held. The Proxy Solicitor plays an important role in a Proxy Contest or Consent Solicitation. Proxy Solicitors are also adept at helping companies determine the makeup of their shareholders.
