What is Sukuk (singular Sakk)?
Definition:
The Arabic name for financial instruments such as Islamic bonds which represent an undivided ownership share in an asset. No Riba (or interest) is payable on such bonds in comparison to conventional bonds. Investors hope to receive a return in reliance on an asset based income structure such as those involving Ijara or Wakala contracts.
