Summary

Hi, this is Jay Kamin from the Customer Success team at Datasite. I’d like to share a story about a client who came to us with a completely manual process — so manual, in fact, that they relied on physical three-ring binders and had no digital system in place whatsoever.

Before the client even began using the Datasite platform, we jumped in to assist and organize their data within Datasite. This was the beginning of a strong relationship. The client came to us with 50 to 100 very detailed documents, all in physical or scanned form — not the structured digital formats like PDFs or Excel that we’re used to.

Rather than leaving them to figure out how to convert and upload everything themselves, the Datasite Assist team rolled up their sleeves and did the heavy lifting for the client. We extracted key information and entered it into Datasite Pipeline. What could have taken their team months, we completed in less than a week — and this was before their first training session.

Once the data was in place, we spent the next week on a customized onboarding process. We walked them through dashboards, tear sheets, and everything in between, showing how the tools could eliminate email threads, reduce reliance on tracking spreadsheets, and centralize everything in one location — a true single source of truth.

What started as an outdated, analog system quickly evolved into a streamlined digital workflow. The client was amazed at the efficiency and time savings. Naturally, the relationship grew. They became regular users of Pipeline and, in fact, are now among our top users.

Since onboarding, they’ve become one of our strongest advocates — a direct result of the support and collaboration we provided from day one. By stepping in early, handling the heavy lifting, and guiding them through the most efficient ways to use the platform, we helped them shift from disconnected, outdated systems to a centralized modern deal management hub.
