Datasite proudly supports record-breaking BioBall 2026
Earlier this month, the 20th annual BioBall tournament brought together the biotech community for a day of competition, teamwork, and inclusion, and by all accounts, it was a tremendous success.
This year’s event welcomed more than 500 athletes, biotech employees, and volunteers, all united in support of Special Olympics and its mission to foster inclusion through sport. Thanks to the incredible generosity of sponsors, participants, and supporters, BioBall 2026 raised a record-breaking $544,000, surpassing the previous fundraising high by more than $75,000.
The milestone is especially meaningful as BioBall celebrates its 20th year. Over the past two decades, the tournament has raised an impressive $5.1 million to support more than 22,000 Special Olympics athletes as they train, compete, and excel across 24 Olympic-style sports.
Datasite was proud to return as a Skills & Drills Sponsor this year, continuing our commitment to community engagement and inclusion. We were also honored to have Evan Morris and Dan Dougherty volunteer at the event, helping create a memorable experience for athletes and participants throughout the day.
"BioBall is one of my favorite events to volunteer at each year," said Morris. "The energy, enthusiasm, and sense of community are incredible. It is inspiring to see so many people come together to support inclusion and celebrate the achievements of these athletes."
For Dougherty, the event’s mission is especially personal.
"My sister participated in Massachusetts Special Olympics events for years when we were growing up, so events like BioBall always hit home. Absolutely nothing compares to being there for the athletes competing with their teams."
Datasite has supported this event for years - we look forward to continuing that support for years to come.
We are grateful to the BioBall organizers, Special Olympics, fellow sponsors, volunteers, and athletes who make this event such a powerful force for good. Congratulations on an incredible 20th tournament and on setting a new fundraising record that will help create even more opportunities for athletes to thrive.
At Datasite, we are proud to support initiatives that strengthen our communities and advance opportunities for everyone to participate, compete, and succeed.
